House Bound

I’m a little bit house bound. I threw my back out in a completely uninteresting way. I wish it was an exciting story but alas it’s barely bloggable. That’s the great thing about a blog. You can post the most mundane and banal things and somebody will actually read them. At the moment having a backbone is more trouble than it’s worth.

I have spent most of the day in bed…and not in the good way. On the upside I have caught up on National news. I have been following the devastating fires in Greece, The “I’m not gay, I just have sex with men” Idaho senator, Bedtime for Gonzo and who will his replacement be. I hear Michael Vick has some free time.

What else is there to do but post to my blog? I don’t know what’s worse, My blogging about my boring day, or the fact that you are reading about my boring day. Are you seriously still reading?

That’s almost as pathetic as writing this while I’m watching Dr. Phil.

Get out the shuffleboard, black socks and sandals.

My mama retired this week after 31 years at the Bainbridge Police Department.
Yup, that's my mom in a flamingo Hawaiian shirt...and who says "her people" aren't fashion mavens. Her retirement party/presentation was held to a standing room only crowd at city hall on Tuesday night. It was really great to see my mom honored (and roasted) by so many people.
Nordstrom Tailored Suit $200.00
Matching Straight Girl Shoes $60.00
The look of horror when Crazy Aunt Linda got up to speak...Priceless
Happy Retirement Mumsy!

Gatchateam vs Squids

Beating a team called "The Squids" doesn't sound all that impressive, but it was an awesome game. Mark's team the Gatchateam scored in a final shoot-out to win the Greater Seattle Hockey League Division 8b Championship. We celebrated at the most glamourous of local hotspots...The Renton Shari's

Steely McBeam

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a new mascot. More than one person has said that he sounds like something I would have made up. Alas, I cannot take credit for my new favorite mascot (did I have an old one?) Steely McBeam rolled off the assembly line and into the hearts of Pennsylvanians and football fans everywhere. Steely McBeam or as I like to call him The lovechild of Rosie the Riveter and Steely Dan has replaced the less catchy "Stevie Steeler"
Saddened by the news, Stevie Wonder and Stevie Nicks were not available for comment.

Can you repeat the question?

I was stuck in traffic behind a red pick-up truck with a bumper sticker that read
So, that being the case I started wondering what the question was. (And who still buys those Calvin peeing window clings)

Lucky for you all I had a long commute to ponder this thought.

Question 1
What word did my grandfather Edwin Ritchie utter preceding both “Would you look at this beautiful sunset” and “Get your head out of yer ass”

Question 2
“I don’t care if it rains or freezes, long as I got my plastic _______ on the dashboard of my car”

Question 3
Who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong

Question 4
Who always had to hear “Since they are so close together, this will do as your birthday and your Christmas present”….and the gift was always huaraches.

Question 5
Who is still a little ashamed of Mel Gibson.

Questions 6
Andrew Lloyd Webber created an unauthorized musical biography of this biblical character and took the liberty of adding an extremely gay “Superstar” to the end of his name. Hint. Webber had nothing to do with “Goliath Superstar” though “Moses Superstar” may be in the works.

Question 7
Who wonders why even though he was born in the middle east , he is always portrayed by men who would be considered Hitler’s Amazing Race.

Question 8
Who shares his given name with many Hispanic baseball players.

Question 9
Who has a great sense of humor and wouldn’t be the least bit offended by this blog posting. Seriously, he has to chuckle a little bit at Jim Caveizel spending all that time learning Aramaic so that he could communicate with….hmm…who speaks Aramaic?…anyone? oh that’s right…it was just for a movie.

Question 10
Who is gonna be really pissed off at me if he has no sense of humor. The same guy who is not very happy about Christian rock…or Christian Slater…Or Chris Rock...but that’s another issue.

A Room With A View...of a Man and a Cat

My apartment building is teeming with animal enthusiasts. I am one of the few residents without a feline companion and/or some sort of kitty bumper sticker on my car. At first glance I thought one of my wacky neighbors was trying to get the attention of his aloof pet. When I returned from getting my mail I noticed the man crawling around and pretending to pounce. He is currently hiding behind the palm tree at the foot of the stairs. I'm not sure whether I should ignore him, call the police or shake a can of pennies at him. Hmm, He's on all fours again, crawling around in the beauty bark. Perhaps it's best I close the blinds.
